When summer comes along, many people always wish that they started working on their summer bod easier. This often leads to many people not getting out and enjoying all that the summer weather has to offer.
If this sounds like you then don’t let next summer be the same! Instead of just saying that you will start exercising, actually do it! Below are some great tips for how to get started and how to prevent losing your motivation.
Are You Wearing the Right Gear
You don’t have to throw out everything in your closet and start fresh, but, if you are planning to take up running as your exercise as you are considering doing it in walking shoes, then it’s time for you to visit the Groupon Coupons page for 6pm.
Not wearing the right gear for the exercise is the easiest way to cause injury to yourself and to lose motivation for any form of exercise. Whether it’s running, hiking, swimming, or even netball, be sure that you are wearing the right clothing and shoes.
What’s the Hurry?
It can be easy to become so excited about your new lifestyle changes that you rush into everything 100%! As admirable as that may be, however, it’s also the best way to exhaust yourself before you have even begun, again destroying any motivation you had. When this happens, it’s hard to get back up off the couch.
Whichever form of sport of exercise that you take up, take it slow and ease your way into it. For example, if you are taking up running, don’t be afraid to spend your first week of exercise sessions simply walking around your local park to awaken your muscles and prepare them for what’s ahead. If you are taking up Netball, don’t feel like you need to practice every day. One or two times a week as you get started is more than sufficient.
Recognize That You May Need a Change
If you become disinterested in a form of exercise or sport, don’t associate this feeling with sports or exercise entirely, but just that what you are doing doesn’t interest you. With this in mind, if you begin to notice that you aren’t enjoying what you are doing, instead of giving up on fitness and exercise, look for something new. If there are aspects of the sport that you do like, look for other sports or exercises that incorporate these and consider taking these up instead.
The important thing to remember is that there are many forms of exercise and sports that you can undertake. Just because the first one that you try doesn’t work out doesn’t mean that you aren’t destined to achieve your goals of a summer ready body next year!
When it comes to starting the journey towards next year’s summer body, these are three great tips to keep in mind to help you get started and to stay on track towards your fitness goals!
